A partner with Riches, McKenzie & Herbert LLP, Jeffrey is an IP lawyer who has practiced exclusively in the area of intellectual property, including all aspects of patent, trademark, copyright and design law, since the start of his career.  Called to the Bar in the Province of Ontario in 1992, Jeffrey also qualified as a registered Canadian patent and trademark agent. He became a partner of the firm in 2002.

Prior to attending law school, Jeffrey completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Engineering Science) at the University of Toronto.

Jeffrey has successfully represented a number of multinational corporations to prosecute and obtain patents, trademark registrations and industrial design registrations in Canada. He has also prepared and prosecuted patent applications, trademark applications and industrial design applications for Canadian companies and inventors in Canada and internationally through a trusted network of foreign associates.

In addition to procuring intellectual property for various clients, Jeffrey also has extensive transactional experience involving drafting licensing agreements relating to intellectual property, particularly financial technology (fintech).

Over his 30-year career, Jeffrey has assisted several Canadian entrepreneurial start-ups that have created innovative products and services and generated employment opportunities in Canada and abroad.
